A maximum and minimum direction of seismic anisotropy are used to estimate
fracture orientation and intensity. The geophysical model assumes a set of vertical
fractures with constant strike orientation. In this figure the velocity is slowed by
crossing the fractures so that the maximum velocity is parallel to the fracture strike.
