Figure 5: Estimated fracture strike and crack density
in the Phosphoria derived using seismic AVO at the 43-33 well location,
plus interpretation. The fracture strike distribution is far more complex
than was originally anticipated, but its interpretation appears to be
geologically reasonable with most fracture orientations paralleling the
major geologic features: the anticline (140 degrees) and the fault (90
degrees). The high values of crack density on the lower right side of
the figure are due to edge effects.
