Figure 3 shows the Transformation ratio for the Tithonian mixed Type II/III (deltaic) source rock at present day. The colours show degree of transformation as a fraction (blue is 0% and red is 100%). Generally the values need to be above ~15% for the source rock to expel hydrocarbon. The Tithonian source rock is mostly effective present day in the Central to Northern part of the margin. This source rock is the major contributor to the reserves that have been discovered to date in the Sable Island area. It is expelling mainly gas in the core area but also generates oil around the rim of the basin on the shelf.
