In other Foundation news, Bill Walker, of Sedalia, Colo., the newest member of the Trustee Associates, has established a memorial grant to serve as a lasting tribute to his friend, Rodney A. Bernasek.
The Rodney A. Bernasek Memorial Grant will be awarded in the amount of a $500 annual grant to a deserving University of Nebraska geoscience graduate student, selected through the Grants-in-Aid Program.
This year, more than 365 students applied to the Grants-in-Aid Program with $114,870 awarded under the regular Grants-in-Aid Program, supplemented by an additional $91,250 from 60 named grants, for a total of $206,120 awarded to 88 deserving geoscience students.
