General Store Aids Students
Want a way to do something nice for yourself that is at the same time something nice for others?
Student volunteers offer their time to work the AAPG General Store.
Make plans now to visit the AAPG General Store while attending the AAPG Annual Convention in San Antonio.
The AAPG Bookstore/General Store, located within the AAPG center in the exhibits hall, is filled with AAPG apparel that is both stylish and functional – designed for all ages, and available exclusively at the annual meetings.
But the best part is this: By purchasing AAPG apparel and gifts at the General Store you are supporting the Student Chapters whose members volunteer to work in the store during the convention (these chapters receive the majority of the proceeds).
Ten percent of the proceeds also are donated to the AAPG Foundation, in recognition of its ongoing support of students and the Student Chapter Programs within AAPG.
AAPG subsidizes much of the operational costs involved in the General Store, a program that has been offered for over 27 years, benefiting countless chapters and students.
It’s a win-win relationship: Many universities that have received funds use these proceeds to attend the convention the following year – therefore putting the money directly back into AAPG – and for many universities this is their chapter’s largest fund-raising opportunity.
