Oil seeping from thrust duplexes and trapped beneath Tertiary volcanic rocks is the
source of the 50 million barrels of oil produced in Nevada thus far. This spacial view
illustrates the relationship of the commercial oil seep field in Railroad Valley Syncline
and the thrust duplexes forming the bounding ranges.
