Judges Needed for Salt Lake City

Preparations are entering the final stages for the AAPG Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City -- but there's still time for members to be an important part of the meeting.

Officials are looking for volunteers to help in the judging of papers and posters -- a function determines the winners of the Matson and Braunstein awards, as well as the SEPM and Division awards.

Geologists call it paradise -- Utah is a state filled with areas, like Zion National Park shown here, that offer beautiful and magnificent examples of geology.

The meeting will be held May 11-14, and not only is Salt Lake City located in the heart of magnificent geology, a huge technical program is being offered around the theme "Energy -- Our Monumental Task."

Volunteer judges are needed to judge one oral or poster session. For that, participants get to attend the free judges' continental breakfast on Monday, May 12, and also receive a certificate of participation and a logo pin.

To volunteer, simply mark your registration form.
