Division Luncheon Speakers Set

All-Convention Luncheon
DPA and SIPES: Heritage of the Petroleum Geologist

Three speakers who will discuss the industry and profession from a "big picture" perspective will be featured at special luncheons, all beginning at 11:30 a.m., during the AAPG Annual Meeting.

On Tuesday, March 12, Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, chairman of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission, will speak at the Division of Environmental Geosciences luncheon on "Energy Supply Policy -- A Complex Puzzle."

The luncheon will be held at the Houston Astros Conference Center at Enron Field. The $42 fee includes a tour of Enron Field.

Also on Tuesday, Jonathan Overpeck, director of the Institute for the Study of Planet Earth at the University of Arizona, will speak at the SEPM luncheon on his award-winning (U.S. Department of Commerce Gold Medal) climate research. The luncheon will be at the Doubletree Allen Center.

On Wednesday, March 13, Chip Groat, director of the U.S. Geological Survey, will speak at the Energy Minerals Division luncheon on "Is There Life After 25?" The luncheon will be at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
