1st International Meeting of the Moroccan Association of Petroleum Geologists

MAPG (Moroccan Association of Petroleum Geologists) is hosting its first international meeting and the 3rd workshop of the ILP-Task Force on Sedimentary Basins (International Lithosphere Program) on October 28-31, 2007 in Marrakech, Morocco, with MAPG sessions devoted to a wide range of exploration topics, and ILP sessions focusing in subsidence and deformation history of African basins and margins.
This event is sponsored by the African Region of the AAPG, as well as the International Year of Planet Earth (IYPE), and should be of interest for the European-Mediterranean community as well.
Call for abstracts for both MAPG and ILP sessions will be closed on May 18, but final agenda will be ready at the time of publication of the next Newsletter, and registrations still open via the MAPG web-site (www.mapg.org/congres/main.html).

International Conference of Geophysicists and Geologists Exhibition
«Tyumen – 2007» (4-7 December 2007)

The Conference and Exhibition are held by the Euro-Asian Geophysical Society (EAGS) jointly with American Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) and American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and supported by Tyumen Oblast Administration and Rosnedra.
Within the technical sections of the Conference it is planned to hear the scientific reports of specialist and organizations an hold an Exhibition on the following topics:
- General and regional petroleum geology
- Modeling of petroleum basins
- Integrated study of petroleum saturated reservoirs, building geological and hydrodynamic models
- Reserves and resources evaluation
- Petrophysics (Rock physics)
- Seismic exploration: methods and instrumentation
- Methods and instrumentation for logging
- Well logging during development and production of oil and gas fields
- Integrated processing and interpretation of seismic and logging data
- Active and passive monitoring of oil and gas fields
- Non-seismic methods of search and exploration of oil and gas fields
- Methods of search and exploration of solid mineral fields
Specialists, scientists and employees of geophysical and geological organizations are invited to take part in this International Conference and Exhibition.
