Suggestions for Changes to the Membership Structure

by István Bérzci

Certified members

Same requirements as for Active members today (5 years experience)

Members (includes both active members and associate)

Online registration and 1 year experience.

Way to compete with other societies

Need one contact person with contact details like telephone number and address. The contact person can be a supervisor or another member of AAPG, SPE, EAGE, SPWLA, or other related societies.

Create a checking structure.

When becoming a pensioner, the fees are less (1/2). This is important for international members who usually reduce their income.

Voting

Members should be entitled to vote and have the same rights as Active members today (only exception is that they are not Certified).

Student members:

Same requirements as for today.

Membership dues should be adjusted to the economical status of the country of residence.
