  1. Graphics Collection Subcommittee, Victor J. Yannacone, jr, Chair.
  2. Responsibilities include QAQC for the graphics collection, develop graphics collection, and prepare programs from the graphics collection for AAPG members to use in public presentations. Subcommittee members might be interested in photography, art, other creative activities. Internet program development is also a task assigned to this subcommittee.

  3. Earth Sciences Week Coordination Subcommittee. Donna Willette, Chair.
  4. To develop and implement Earth Sciences Week activities and program for AAPG, and to investigate becoming involved with Earth Day.

  5. Environmental Stewards Subcommittee. Philip Ryall, Chair.
  6. The major task of this subcommittee is to identify and document examples of outstanding oil and gas exploration and development operations. These will be used to demonstrate sound and modern E&P practices to the public and the media. This subcommittee should also monitor where there are problems on which we can help focus other's attention. I envision this as a global program.

  7. Writers for the Public Subcommittee. Tom Moore, Chair.
  8. We need to identify great AAPG writers and speakers who easily communicate energy issues to the non-technical public, and provide them with the materials to communicate. Interaction with similar minded groups, such as the Energy Advocates, is encouraged to leverage energy and time.

  9. Materials for Teachers Subcommittee: Betsy Campen, Chair.

Develop materials that meet teachers needs for energy education materials. Will have to coordinate with many other groups both within and external to AAPG. This subcommittee is our link to the Youth Education Activities Committee.
