Dear Fellow Members,

A letter was sent out for the Mid-Year meeting to propose the idea of creating action teams to try and increase our momentum. The mid-year meeting approved the idea, and this letter is to extend the concept for full implementation at the March meeting. I repeat below part of the previous letter:

"… We have all seen worthwhile initiatives languish because of a perception that only those few in leadership are empowered to pursue them. I would like your reaction to the idea of establishing working teams that are empowered to pursue important individual initiatives relevant to our committee charter. Small teams covering the new initiatives … of the Committee should be able to interact and move forward at a faster pace than the committee-as-a-whole. The expectation is that each Committee member will become part of a team … .

How would it work? Teams would take themes defined by the Committee and then set their own agenda and timetable for delivering results. Each team would report at committee meetings. Either the Chair or Vice-Chair would be an ex officio member of each team to promote communication between meetings. "

If we use this concept effectively, we can jump start some of our initiatives. Some themes proposed for Action Teams are:
