Steven Bell
Steve Bell is a Founder, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Remora Energy. Bell has been in the E&P business for more than 25 years. As former President of Exploration and Business Development for BHP Billiton Petroleum, the worlds' largest diversified natural resources company, Bell managed a significant portion of the growth portfolio for the company worldwide. Previous to joining BHP, Bell held senior executive positions at EnCana and Apache Corporation where he led newly created teams that built growth focused International divisions. Prior to that, he served in various technical positions with Sun Oil Company.
Bell currently serves as Chairman of the board for the Energy and Geoscience Institute (Univ. of Utah/Imperial College-London). He also serves on the board of trustees for the American Geological Institute and the corporate advisory board for the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. He is a past member of the Advisory Committee for Continuing Education at The Wharton School of Business (Univ. of Pennsylvania). Bell is also a past Board Member of the American Petroleum Institute, Domestic Petroleum Council and National Ocean Industries Association. A geologist by training, Bell is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School of Business –University of Pennsylvania, and holds a MSc from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and a BSc from Rider College.
