This was an outstanding article regarding the future of our Association which is experiencing a steep decline in membership. The The EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE (eight members) had a tie vote on the motion to complete suspended work on the merger with the SOCIETY OF PETROLEUM ENGINEERS and commit to a vote of all members. Four voted YES and four voted NO. A tie vote means a no vote! So in essence, are you telling us that only four members can determine the future of our Association on such a grave issue; that is insanity! I recommend that the issue be revisited , the rules changed and put to vote to our entire membership. John Treckman Read more
