Margo J. Liss is currently consulting after retiring from DeGolyer and MacNaughton in 2019.  She is a licensed professional geologist with the State of Texas and an AAPG Board Certified Petroleum Geologist.  Margo began her career with Mobil Oil in 1991, joined DeGolyer and MacNaughton in 1995, left the firm in 1998 to be an expat in Venezuela where she worked for Schlumberger, and then rejoined D&M in 2005. She has become a petroleum industry expert with experience in both production and exploration activities, having worked with leading petroleum industry consulting firms and with several major service and national and state oil companies and financial institutions, ultimately with a focus on asset management and the capturing of reserves and resources for her clients.  Margo currently holds positions as Co-chair of the AAPG Committee for Resource Evaluation, is a Representative to the AAPG Advisory Council on behalf of the SW Section of the AAPG and is a Delegate to the House for the AAPG.  In 2021, Margo was bestowed Life Membership by the AAPG Division of Professional Affairs, their highest and most prestigious award.  She has been a member of the AAPG/DPA Reserves and Resources Committee since 2013.
