Curtis Archie joined the predecessor company of Petrotrin as a Trainee Geologist, worked upwards through the ranks and became Divisional Geologist in 2003. He lead teams that developed and maintained the Development drilling portfolio for Petrotrin's onshore acreage and was appointed B Manager of Exploration & Geophysics in 2012. Key responsibilities in this position: building an exploration well portfolio for all of Petrotrin's acreage, designing and implementing geophysical programs (acquisition, processing and interpretation). He laised with Petrotrin's joint venture department providing G&G advice with respect to investment decisions. Over the years he has covered most aspects of the profession from proposing wells to Operations Geology/ well sitting, petrophysics, seismic interpretation and field work. He assists the University of the West Indies Geoscience program with their field mapping program and has done so since 2003. He has been author/co-author/presenter of at least 40 papers/oral presentations/posters/field guides. He received awards from the GSTT for best technical presentation in 2006, best field trip in 2004, Top 10 award of excellence for oral presentation at ICE 2013. He has served twice as President of the Geological Society of Trinidad, board member between 1992-2012 and Delegate for the Latin American & Caribbean region of the AAPG since 2013.
