With an impressive career in the energy industry spanning over 20 years, numerous publications and a full professorship at the University of Geneva’s department of Earth sciences, Andrea Moscariello’s well-rounded experience is most suitable for a Visiting Geoscientist.

After studying Earth sciences at the University of Turin and earning a doctorate from the University of Geneva, Moscariello worked as a geoscientist and international subsurface expert for Shell International on several projects that included conventional and unconventional reservoirs in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, the United States, South America and the North Sea from 1997 to 2008.

He became the first geoscience manager and business and technical director of SGS Horizon (former Horizon EP) and then founded Earth Resources BV, an independent consultancy firm active in the field of geo-energy exploration and production, a position he held from 2008-10.

Moscariello’s academic career began in 1998, when he served as an affiliate lecturer at the department of geography at the University of Cambridge and then in 2006, he took a position as an associate professor with the Technical University of Delft where he taught until 2011. Moscariello became a full professor at the department of Earth sciences at the University of Geneva in 2011, where he has overseen the Geo-Energy/Reservoir Geology and Basin Analysis group.

Moscariello is a member of ECORD (European Consortium of Ocean Research Drilling) and an expert for the United Nations ESCWA on energy matters. He has authored and co-authored more than 90 scientific publications and reports in peer-reviewed international journals.

For those who wish to engage Moscariello as a visiting geoscientist, topics he is qualified to cover include coal geology, exploration geology, seismic stratigraphy and structural geology.

He is available to teach with the program in the United States. For speaking engagements, he is available to travel to universities in Africa, Asia Pacific, Canada, Europe, Latin America and Caribbean and North America.
