Clemencia Gomez was educated in Colombia, receiving a Bachelors Degree in Geological Sciences from Caldas University in 1997 and a PhD in Paleontology (Quaternary Palinology) from Alcalá University in 2007. She is specialist in oil-mining law and business administration. She was Chief Geologist of National Hidrocarbon Agency (2009-2011), general manager GMAS consulting (2012-2016) and has been a university Professor for 18 years. She is vice president of the Colombian Society of Geology and Geosciences program advisor of COLCIENCIAS.
