Fay Smith has a B.S. in Geology from the University of the West Indies, Jamaica and a M.S. in Mineral Exploration & Mining Geology from the University of Leicester, U.K. She has worked with the Belize Government’s Geology and Petroluem Unit in the administration and monitoring of both the minerals and petroleum sectors. Positions held include that of Geologist and Acting Director. She also worked temporarily on the area of Health Safety and the Environment and Quality Assurance in Belize’s citrus industry. Fay is currently employed as Senior Geologist/ Technical Team Leader with Belize Natural Energy, the only oil and gas producer in Belize. Fay's interest is to aid in unraveling the intricacies of Belize's geology for the development of the country's petroleum and mineral resources.
