Frank Ryan started his career as a Geoscientist with Chevron Canada in 2012. His journey with Chevron began in his hometown of St. John’s, NL, Canada working on developing the Hibernia offshore oil field. In 2015 his journey brought him to Calgary, AB Canada to pursue unconventional tight-rock exploration. The mix of science, art and business that the geoscience industry requires has intrigued Frank since his freshman year. He graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons), majoring in Earth Sciences with a focus on petroleum geology and resource plays in 2011, and went on to complete an MBA in Finance and Leadership from Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) in 2014. During his University years he held internships at BP Canada, and Imperial Oil. Frank has been involved with the AAPG since he was a student member in university, when he was fortunate enough to represent MUN at the Imperial Barrel Award competition in the Canada Region and at the World finals at the AAPG Annual Convention and Exhibition in 2012. Since then Frank has been an active AAPG member and represents Eastern Canada as the Young Professionals Lead on the AAPG Canada Executive.
