Christine Piela grew up in North Carolina, earned a BS from the University of Miami in Geology/Marine Science in 2008 and her MS from Texas A&M University in Geologic Oceanography in 2010. Chris interned with BP Alaska in 2009 and started working full time with BP in Houston in 2010 as a regional geologist in the Gulf of Mexico. She has since worked as an exploration geologist in the Gulf of Mexico, an operations and wellsite geologist in Wyoming, and currently works on the Resource Appraisal team for the deepwater Paleogene trend. In her spare time, Chris enjoys being active outdoors. She spends time in the Hill Country and at the beach testing her Jeep Wrangler while trying not to get stuck! She also enjoys traveling and cooking.
