Oscar Fernandez is a structural geologist with over 15 years in the international oil & gas business. He currently lectures in Structural Geology and Geophysics at the University of Vienna but he previously worked in Repsol, in BP, in Roxar (now Emerson) and in Midland Valley (now Petroleum Experts). During his years in Midland Valley and Roxar he worked mostly in consulting and supporting software development. In BP and Repsol he worked as an internal consultant/advisor in structural geology in both exploration and production projects. His interests span from understanding fluid flow in naturally fractured reservoirs to understanding the geodynamics of passive margins and fold-and-thrust belts.
