Wassem Alward is a Petroleum Geoscientist for Schlumberger PetroTechnical Services (PTS) based in Erbil, Kurdistan of Iraq. Since joining Schlumberger in 2010, he has worked in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), Mumbai (India), Basra (Iraq) and Erbil (Iraq). Most of his work is centered on advanced geological and petrophysical characterization of Carbonate & Clastics reservoirs. His areas of past experience and current interest include: Reservoir Characterization, Petroleum Geology, Structural Geology, Borehole Image Interpretation and Applications, Petrophysics and Well Logging operations with special interest in the advanced applications of borehole images for reservoir characterization. Wassem holds a bachelor degree (BSc) in Geology from University of Baghdad, he is also a member of SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers), EAGE (European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers ) and AAPG (American Association of Petroleum Geologists). He firmly believes that “Learning and sharing knowledge is the most exciting human activity”.
