Abul (Shams) Shamsuddin has worked for last 25 years in the field of Petroleum Exploration. Shams started his career as a geochemist with Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Corporation (Petrobangla) in 1986. Then joined Unocal Corporation, Houston in 1995 where he worked for Unocal for 10 years both in USA and Bangladesh. In 2006 when Unocal merged with Chevron, he works as a Chief Exploration Geologist for Chevron Bangladesh in their division of Asset Development. During his career in Chevron, Shams also worked in Energy Technology Company (ETC), Chevron located at Houston. Shams was also a part time faculty member at the Jahangir Nagar University and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in Dhaka. He completed his B.Sc and M.Sc from Lumumba University in Moscow, Ph.D at Moscow State University and Post-Doc at French Petroleum Institute, France.
