The USGS Central Energy Resources Science Center is soliciting interest from qualified individuals for a Petroleum Engineer position in Lakewood, Colorado. Successful applicants must have qualifying education and expertise that can be applied to the following: unconventional and conventional resource assessments; reservoir engineering analysis and modeling; and engineering evaluations in energy extraction, enhanced recovery, and produced waters. A strong emphasis is placed on experience with probabilistic and statistical methods related to petroleum. Research topics also address the economic and environmental effects of energy resource production.
Candidates must be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team of geologists, geochemists, geophysicists, and engineers. Excellent skills in writing and oral presentation of scientific findings are also required.
