Sponsorship Invitation

The 2008 International Conference and Exhibition of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) will be held in Cape Town, South Africa from 26 to 29 October 2008, hosted by the Geological Society of South Africa (GSSA). We have the honour of co-chairing the Sponsorship Committee which is working very hard to support the outstanding technical program themed “African Energy: Global Impact.” The conference will provide wide-ranging technical coverage of the petroleum geology and resources of Africa, global basins and the newest technology of the petroleum science. Short courses and field trips will also be held. A brief outline of the Technical Programme is attached for your information.

In order to provide the lowest cost registration fees, the best available resources, venues and functional programs for all the petroleum geoscientific communities, we are soliciting support from the Industry and their Associates.

The recently held 2006 Conference and Exhibition in Perth, Australia, secured an impressive amount in funding, with many of the sought after sponsorship programmes sold out very quickly. The Sponsorship Committee have a big task to match the funding of the Perth conference, but we are confident that we can exceed it with your kind participation. As described in the following pages, sponsorship packages are available that fit into every Capital Budget.
