General chair Sipho Mkhize, PetroSA, will preside over a multi-media event in the modern and beautiful Cape Town International Convention Centre. Joining him at the podium will be AAPG President Scott Tinker and other government and cultural dignitaries, all of whom will welcome you with words that pave the way to an entertaining session and unforgettable conference.

Duncan Clarke
Duncan Clarke

You’ll experience the culture of Cape Town via a dazzling, world-class group of singers – the South African Youth Choir – who will immerse you in the sights and sounds of South Africa. And as a special treat, this year’s opening ceremony will feature a keynote talk by Duncan Clarke, Chairman and CEO of Global Pacific & Partners, titled “Africa: Great Frontier in World Hydrocarbons, Past, Present and Future.”

Immediately after the ceremony will be more music, more sights and more fun at the Icebreaker celebration in the exhibition hall. Don’t miss the ceremony that will have everyone talking.
