Meet & Greet — new for ICE
We realize that navigating the convention can be as confusing as that first mapping project at field camp. But have no fear—we’re here to help! Participate in the Meet 'N' Greet, where we pair an experienced conference attendees with a newcomer . This popular networking event begins before the Opening Session so you'll get off to a great start at the meeting. Benefits of participating:
Professionals — share your experience and help a neo geo. Students — learn the ropes and start your networking now. Look for Meet 'n' Greet signups before ICE.
"It was a wonderful experience and a chance to see 'behind the curtain' as my mentor was John Dolson who is very involved in AAPG. I was afforded the opportunity to meet with many professionals that make AAPG work. I got to see that anyone, even I, could get involved. At the Opening Ceremonies I saw the professionals I had just met up on stage delivering speeches and that brought AAPG closer to home. As a grad student I have not been in the industry long enough to make connections and just knowing someone makes the whole experience that much more personal. The whole experience made me feel like AAPG was smaller and more personal looking after each other like a family. It is a small world after all.
Thank you for all your hard work. I appreciate it greatly. I hope to keep in contact with my mentor and see him at the next AAPG [event]. Thank you."
— Nicolas Guerrero, Grad student
"I sincerely enjoyed meeting my three assigned young professionals! Ireceived resumes on two and am forwarding to interested parties. Outstanding young professionals — the future is in great hands!"
