Abstracts guidelines
Ranking System
AAPG conferences have a reputation for delivering a comprehensive technical program. The recent implementation of a ratings system ensures that the content is of the highest quality. Ranking of abstracts will be done by selected reviewers from the Technical Program Committee contacts. Reviewers are specialists in applicable disciplines to assure general interest and global perspective. Evaluation criteria include technical quality, innovation, new studies and application to the theme. Oral and poster sessions will be formed from this pool of highly ranked abstracts to ensure high technical quality across the entire program. Ranking will be completed after abstracts submissions close.
Guidelines
- Industry professionals and students are invited to submit abstracts for the AAPG 2010 International Conference & Exhibition online at www. AAPG.org/Calgary. If you are unable to submit your abstract online, contact Jean Reynolds at +1 918 560 2668 or by e-mail .
- Abstracts can be up to 2,500 characters and cover objectives, procedures, results and conclusions.
- Titles are required — they should be brief and state the topic.
- Titles should not include company names.
- Presenters must refrain from making subtle or blatant sales pitches including but not limited to use of product names, trade names and pictures, or use of company logo.
- Abstracts should be submitted in the form you would like to see them published, as they will not be edited.
- Presenters of accepted abstracts will have the option to submit an extended version of their abstract, which will be reproduced on CD and distributed to professional registrants.
- Presenters are invited to have their presentations published on AAPG’s online Search and Discovery to preserve their work for future reference.
- Presenters will be notified this summer of their acceptance or rejection.
- Important: AAPG has no funding for speakers. Do not submit an abstract unless at least one author is certain to attend the conference. All session chairs, speakers and poster presenters must register to attend the conference. No exceptions will be made.
