Results of a Quantitative Member Survey

Section 8: Distinguished Lectures

Lecture Attendance

Respondents were asked how many, if any, Distinguished Lectures they have attended in the past year. As figure 49 shows, the majority of respondents have not attended a Distinguished Lecture, perhaps representing an opportunity for the AAPG.

Information Mix

All respondents were asked what mix of fundamental science versus industry application information they would prefer during a Distinguished Lecture, understanding that the lectures are held at universities as well as local societies. As figure 51 shows, respondents preferred a mid-range, with a secondary group preferring more industry than science.
