AAPG essentially has 6 departments within 4 directorates. Prior to 2005-2006 most departments (besides operations) ran an operational deficit because all income from dues was allocated to operations. Thanks to the more detailed information provided by the IMIS/Great Plains accounting system, we are now able to better allocate overhead expenses and dues revenues throughout dues related departments like the Bulletin and the Explorer, both key services that members receive for their dues. This is a much fairer allocation of revenues and costs among departments.
