For the last 15 years, AAPG thru its Investment Committee has prudently grown the accumulated savings of the Association, with help from the stock market during much of the 1990’s. This shows a year end snapshot for each column, with steady growth up until 2000. The temporary dip you see from 2000-02 was caused primarily by a drop in the stock market and the underlying value of the securities. Major capital expenditures such as the multi-million dollar purchase of Datapages and the IMIS/Great Plains system have also come out of the portfolio. Our portfolio is basically our savings account and allows up to meet such extraordinary financial expenses. Thankfully, the portfolio has continued to grow since July 1st.
