Resolutions Committee
I am the new chair of the HoD Resolutions Committee succeeding Dennis Moore. The committee is responsible for reviewing any resolutions, petitions or motions brought forward from the HoD chair, delegate or affiliated society.
The Resolutions Committee also reviews applications from geological societies who want to become affiliated with AAPG, and then makes a recommendation to the HoD at the annual meeting. For example, the Myanmar Geosciences Society (formerly Burma) has contacted AAPG Headquarters concerning affiliation with AAPG. After a legal review by headquarters and approval by the Executive Committee (EC), their application will be forwarded to the Resolutions Committee. Then the Myanmar Geosciences Society’s affiliation should be voted on during the Annual HoD meeting at the 2013 Pittsburgh ACE.
We are also charged with contacting affiliated societies who have not sent any delegates to the HoD meeting at the annual convention for the past two years, and encouraging them to send delegates to the next annual meeting.
The Resolutions Committee consists of seven members including the Chair. Our members are:

- Rick Nagy, Gulf Coast Section
