Note to the House of Delegates from the AAPG President
One of my goals for this year is to continue to address the long-term health of the Association by working on expanding membership with students and young professionals. The Association has ongoing challenges in retaining young members and transforming them into Active membership.
To help achieve this goal, I am presenting a free half-day course for students and professionals around the world entitled “The Petroleum Industry in the Next Decade: an Overview of the Science, Technology and AAPG.” The purpose of this short course is to give students and professionals a strong sense of the spectacular technology with which we work, how much exploration and production concepts have changed over the past three to four years with the rapid evolution in developing unconventional resources, and the future of their profession and what they can expect from their careers. Hopefully, along the way, the benefits of AAPG membership will become clear.
