HoD 2011 Officer Candidates
HoD Secretary/Editor

I joined AAPG as a student member in 1977. I have found that my membership in this outstanding organization for over 35 years has enriched my life in many ways through the education, camaraderie, and the professional affiliation I share with all of the Members of AAPG.
I am honored, and excited, to be nominated as a candidate for the position of Secretary/ Editor of the AAPG House of Delegates. As a delegate, I have enjoyed the process and information that we, as delegates, receive from our Executive Committee and utilize in our meetings to further the goals of the AAPG organization. As Secretary/Editor, I will execute the duties of this position to further the communication and the information transfer between Delegates, the Executive Committee, and the Members. I believe I possess the energy and enthusiasm to serve the House of Delegates, and the entire AAPG community with vision, passion, and integrity.
Over my career, I have worked for a number of companies, including Occidental Geothermal, Arco Coal, Conoco, Shell Oil, and Ocean Energy before becoming President of Hydrocarbon Exploration and Development, Inc., in 1999. In my experience of working the geology of the basins of these great United States and throughout the world, I have met and enjoyed working with many AAPG members. I am passionate as an explorer, diligent as a developer, and determined in the advancement of our geologic knowledge of this earth.
My professional experience includes geological and geophysical interpretation work in Rocky Mountain, Mid-Continent, and Gulf Coast basins, as well as Conventional, Unconventional, and Coal Bed Methane reservoirs domestically and in the international arena.
Currently, I am President of Hydrocarbon Exploration and Development, Inc., an independent consulting company located in Littleton, Colorado. I received my BS in Geology from California State University in Los Angeles, and my MS in Geology from the Colorado School of Mines. One of my many areas of expertise is in the Petra®, PetraSeis®, and MJ LogSleuth® software programs. I conduct training on these software programs throughout North America and overseas. My professional experience in exploration, development, and operations have brought a real life work-flow and understanding to the training that I provide
