What AAPG Means to Me

I became a member of AAPG because when I was attending college, my father, who was my mentor, encouraged me to join and made me realize the importance of belonging to professional societies for the following reasons:

    1. Obtain an integral vision of the profession
    2. Develop skills
    3. Meet people
    4. Learn about the profession
    5. Understand the science
    6. Learn about other countries - provinces
    7. Obtain recognition for my achievements
    8. Learn to be a better person and professional
    9. Understand the history of the profession
    10. Know who were the Forefathers of the science.

I have been a member of AAPG for 40 years and I have benefited in all the ways my father told me that I would. To me, being a member means having been successful in my professional life. Over the years my participation in AAPG has resulted in meeting thousands of professionals throughout the world. Along the way, I developed many long-lasting friendships and business contacts.
