Committees
Resolutions Committee
The Resolutions Committee reviews any petitions, resolutions or motions from HoD delegates, the HoD Chair, or any Affiliated Society and makes recommendations to the HoD at the annual HoD meeting. The Committee contacts Affiliated Societies who have been under represented at HoD meetings, encourages them to send delegates, and facilitates their attendance. The Committee also reviews the credentials of new societies who wish to Affiliate with AAPG, and reviews societies for “Disaffiliation”, when societies are no longer active in AAPG.
What AAPG Means to Me
My activities in AAPG have given me knowledge, friendship, and contacts to the world. As I own my own small business with my husband, Robert Groth, I have to keep up with as much as I can in our industry. I like to tell people that, “I sure don’t know everything, but what I do know are the people who know a whole lot more than I do about almost anything. And I sure like hanging out and working with them.” I have met a lot of them through AAPG.
Recently, a young friend who is working for me said, “I hope I will know people all over the world that I can visit like you do.” It made me think for a minute about the wonderful friends I have made across the country and around the world, and the personal benefits of knowing these people. And I thanked my lucky stars that I have been active in AAPG.
