- Development of AAPG EMD Technical Committee Leadership to include Vice Chairs of Industry, Government and University and Division Representation of DEG and DPA
- Monthly leadership teleconferences
- Strong representation at section and region meetings
- Completion of Gas Hydrates Publication
- Multiple publications in progress (CO2 Sequestration, Shale Petroleum Reservoirs AAPG Special Publication, USGS Gulf Coast Coal Assessment, Geospatial Databases, Atlas of Coal Geology, Oil Sands Geology and Sustainability of Development, Energy Minerals in the Solar System, Energy Commodity Reports)
- Significant Upgrade of EMD Web site and development of Web Portal
- Support of sister and local societies – providing technical presenters and content
- Staffing Renewable Energy and Tight Gas Committees
New Orleans ACE Meeting
- 16 technical sessions, 1 field trip, and 1 short courses
- Big effort to attract students (student pairings, panel, reception, hub, EMD luncheons)
- Joint Division Events; EMD and DEG Luncheon

2009-10 Objectives
- Be well-represented at section, region, and annual meetings
- Co-sponsor additional activities with local geological societies and sister societies
- Co-sponsor a Geoscience Technology Workshop and/or Hedberg Conference
- Increase cooperation within AAPG (Divisions, Standing Committees)
- Communicate more effectively with our members (quarterly newsletter)
- Expand and improve our Web site

- Membership Dues eliminated – Full membership offered to all AAPG members
- Guidelines established for interaction between AAPG Standing Committees and EMD Technical Committees
- AAPG EMD integrative structure established within full AAPG organization
- Web site Membership Profile for AAPG and AAPG Divisions
- Proposal for Online Forum Technical Interest Groups (TIGS)
