Marilyn Taggi Cisar
Chair

The HoD Credentials Committee has the honor and privilege of determining the eligibility of the elected, alternate and appointed delegates at the annual meeting of the House.Members of the Committee are: the Chair of the committee, Marilyn Taggi Cisar; the candidates for Chair-elect of the House of Delegates, David Hawk and Terry O’Hare; and the candidates for Secretary/ Editor of the House of Delegates Patrick Gooding and Laura Zahm.

One of the initiatives of the Credentials Committee, which we plan to continue in 2009, is the increased participation of all of the affiliated societies. Ultimately the goal is to have 100% participation. It is never too early to start planning to attend the Annual House of Delegates meeting on Sunday, June 7, 2009. Final lists of delegates, alternates, and appointed alternates are due in AAPG Headquarters fifteen days prior to the meeting, which will be May 23, 2009, for the upcoming year.

I returned to the position of Chair of the Credentials Committee upon the resignation of Patrick Gooding to run for Secretary/ Editor of the House of Delegates. I look forward to working with the new committee to assure a smooth and efficient meeting in Denver. I am a thirty-year veteran of the oil patch and a twenty-seven-year member of AAPG and have represented the Houston area in the House of Delegates since 1992. Professional interests include the development of tight sand reservoirs in the Vicksburg, Frio, and Wilcox of South Texas and the unconventional gas play in the Haynesville Shale of northern Louisiana. I have worked as a production geologist in numerous onshore North American basins for Royal Dutch Shell since 1978.
