HOUSE Keeping
Delegates, this section of The Delegates' Voice will help keep you informed of various issues pertaining to the House and House business. Here are two items included in this section, notification of the headcount deadline and the deadlines for this year's House business.
Delegate Election for the term July 1, 2006 - June 30, 2009
In December U.S. Affiliated Society and International Region Presidents will be notified of the number of paid Active AAPG members in their respective areas. This member count determines the number of HoD members each area is entitled to elect for a three-year term starting July 1, 2006.
If an election is needed to add more delegates or to replace delegates whose terms are expiring, this information will also be enclosed.
Please remember that the president may need your help in setting up a Delegate Nominating Committee to select eligible nominees. This is especially true if the society president is not an AAPG member. Each society and region has the option of holding their own election or of asking AAPG to conduct it for them.
Scheduled Meetings AAPG Calendar | Meetings
The annual meetings that will take place during this term will be
- Long Beach, California in April 2007;
- New Orleans, Louisiana in April 2008 and
- Denver, Colorado in June 2009.
The only international conference with a definite date is Perth, Australia, November 5-8, 2006. International meeting venues for 2007 and 2008 have not been finalized.
