Honors & Awards
Participation in the process of selecting candidates to receive awards for service to the AAPG HoD should be better understood and more accessible to all AAPG delegates. Establishment of HoD award recommendations forms online may serve to demystify and encourage nominations. Soon you can view forms on the AAPG web site for each of the three award categories: Honorary Member of the House, Distinguished Member of the House, and House Long Service.
Do you know a delegate who deserves recognition? Soon, you will be able to download the appropriate form to complete and sign, then mail or fax it to AAPG Headquarters care of Donna Riggs, Membership Services. Your recommendation will be forwarded to the current Honors & Awards Chair for consideration. Below is an abbreviated version of the proposed form for Distinguished Member of the House:

Description:
Presented in recognition of the unique or exemplary service to the House through committee work. Chairing of committees and service as an officer will be considered, but not required. Annual presentation is not required and there shall be no limitation of the number of annual recipients.
Restrictions:
- To be given only to recognize persons for their service to the House of Delegates.
- Only a person who has served as a Delegate within the previous five (5) years may receive this award.
- No member of the HoD Honors and Awards Committee is eligible to receive this award while serving on that Committee.
- No AAPG member shall receive more than one House award in any one year.
- No candidate for an HoD or AAPG office can be nominated for an HoD award in the same year.
