Rules & Procedures
It is proposed that the Chair Elect of the HoD prepare a budget for the House to be presented to the Executive Committee for consideration at their first meeting of each year. Having the Chair Elect responsible for preparing his or her budget would allow them to crystallize their thoughts for the upcoming year. This would be a process that would ultimately provide independence and fiscal responsibility for the House.
We should reconsider the deadline for the Honors & Awards Committee. In discussion with Jeannie Mallick, the Chair of the H&A Committee, the suggestion was an additional 30 days, pushing the published date back to 31st of October each year.
It is proposed that a final confidential report be prepared by both the Nomination & Election and Honors & Awards committees and addressed to the Chair Elect listing the candidates that were unavailable or ineligible for office or honors. This will allow for continuity and for the preservation of these names for future consideration.
It is proposed that we add to the Rules and Procedures document that November 30th of each calendar year be the official date to count society members for allotment of Delegates.
