"The
expansion of the House committees adding several new members to
almost all the committees created some difficulty in populating
the committees at the outset of the session. Over the past year
we made it clear to delegates that election to the House comes with
an obligation of committee service, and have had a good response
from members.
This year’s
House session between annual meetings was only eleven (11) months
-- May 2003 to April 2004 -- making for some tight deadlines in
conducting business. The next term will have fourteen (14) months
between the April 2004 Dallas and June 2005 Calgary annual meetings,
which should provide for a less hurried approach to House business
and communications with both delegates and the AAPG membership.
It has
been a rare honour and a distinct pleasure to serve as your chair
for the past session; thank you for that opportunity."
