I
would like to thank the
committee members for all their efforts in editing The Delegates
Voice this year. Three issues have been published so far, and
this is the final issue, summarizing the annual meeting. We had
a little trouble with the mailing of the first issue in September,
but that seems to have been taken care of now. Issues are posted
on the AAPG Web site, in both .pdf and searchable .html formats,
so they can be easily accessed by any member.
The 2002-2003
Newsletter Committee members are: Pat Gratton, George Eynon, Martin
Cassidy, and Debra Osborne. I truly appreciate their efforts in
providing the extra sets of eyes to proof read various editions
of each newsletter. The publication schedule is often compressed
and their willingness to read and return material to me has made
my job much easier.
Most importantly,
I want to acknowledge the efforts of Linda Ramsey at AAPG Headquarters
for doing all the article layout and composition. I appreciate Lindas
patience and cooperation, even over holidays following me around
via email as I visited various family members. I also appreciate
Janet Bristers work in getting each edition of the DV on
the AAPG web site, in both .pdf and .html formats. Linda and Janet
are invaluable in getting the DV published and available
on the Web site. Also, I appreciate all the help I have received
from Donna Riggs. Donna is my starting point of contact for so many
things at AAPG headquarters and she always is able to help me.
I appreciate
the opportunity to work with Terry Hollrah, George Eynon and all
of the HoD committee chairs to conduct the business of the HoD this
year. Its been a real pleasure to work with all of these individuals
as well as the members of the House.
Finally,
I want to congratulate the awardees on their contributions and accomplishments.
I have two suggestions to pass on to the incoming Secretary/Editor.
I suggest putting some additional resources for the HoD on the AAPG
Web site for easy reference. I suggest putting up the HoD Rules
and Procedures. For me, sometimes its much easier to go to
my computer to find a document than look for a piece of paper in
my office. I also suggest placing the list of committees there as
well as the list of deadlines. The latter two are published in each
issue of The Delegates Voice, but I think it would
be nice to be able to go directly to these sorts of reference material.
