HoD Restructured

Meeting in Dallas on 6 April 1997 under the chairmanship of Pat Gratton, the House adopted Bylaws and Rules changes which significantly altered HoD leadership structure.

We changed from Chairman and Secretary to Chair, Chairman-Elect and Secretary/Editor. Net result: one job got easier and another got tougher!

Today we see the continuing benefit of the learning process on Chair-Elects and the assistance provided the Chairs by the understudies. As readers we enjoy the benefit of The Delegates’ Voice produced by hard working Secretary/Editors assisted by other members of the Newsletter Committee.

The meeting also resulted in an HoD Honors and Awards Committee, production of a HoD History compilation, recommendations for changes in officer candidate campaign practices (including the first reimbursement of candidates) and forwarding of the important International Representation Committee recommendations (later largely adopted).
