The
HoD Honors and Awards Committee members are:
Bob
Cowdery,
Dan Billman,
Maurice Birdwell,
Ibraham Al Ghandi,
Ron Grubbs,
David Hawk,
Sigrunn Johnsen,
Bob Lindblom,
Jeannie Mallick, and
Warren Workman.
They
commenced securing nominees in July and voted on those selected
in August.
Since
the awards were initiated in 2000, there have been three members
selected for Honorary Membership in the HoD, six members selected
for the Distinguished Service Award and five members have received
the Long Service Award. See list on page 6.
Strong
consideration should be given to changing the rule that anyone
selected must have been a member of the HoD in the last two years.
This doesn't seem to serve any useful purpose and it allows a
lot of extremely well qualified members who have served long and
well in the HoD to "slip through the cracks".
