Future of
Earth Scientists Committee
By Don
Lewis, Chair
The
Future of Earth Scientists Committee has been somewhat restructured.
Don Lewis is continuing as Chairman, supported by Brian Keith and
Rick Ericksen from last year's Committee and newly joined members
Chris Heath and Jack Edwards.
The goal for this year is to build on last year's preliminary work
to make a long-term projection of the demand for geoscientists,
considering many factors. This demand projection, combined with
Chris Heath's work on the skill sets desired in new graduates by
the petroleum industry, should be of interest to both the House
and to academia.
