Chairman-Elect's
Corner
Terry
Hollrah, Chairman-Elect
First
and foremost, I wish to thank the House of Delegates for their vote
of confidence in me at the Denver meeting. I look forward to serving
under Ed Dolly and along with Marty Hewitt. I can assure you that
my opponent, colleague, and friend Don Clarke will be asked to serve
on a HOD committee, as he is this year, when I serve as Chairman
next year. The HOD holds a long, distinguished tradition of excellent
leadership for AAPG member representation.
Ed has
assembled an extraordinary degree of talented individuals (in a
very short time) to serve on the HOD committees. To those volunteers,
I applaud and commend you all for accepting the committee leadership
responsibilities. This is going to be a very fast paced year since
the next convention is only six months away. I urge every Delegate
to stay informed on upcoming issues. I know I've already been overloaded
with e-mails this past month.
I also
urge everyone to learn about the AAPG programs and what the organization
has to offer. Our Geocare Insurance now offers a Twice Life Program
and Comprehensive Dental Insurance along with seven other insurance
programs. AAPG also offers a new 401(K) retirement savings plan
called GeoVest for small employers and sole proprietorships. The
new AAPG sponsored Prospect Expo should be a great success for our
members. These are just a few of the many programs this organization
has to offer.
I look
forward to a great year and an even better one next year.
