Mid-year
House Leadership Meeting
by
Sandi Barber
The mid-year
meeting of the House of Delegates officers and committee chairmen
will be held on February 22, 2001 in Tulsa. The meeting is being
held in conjunction with and immediately in advance of a meeting
of the Advisory Council and AAPG Leadership Days in order to cut
down the amount of travel time required of delegate participants
for two or more of these meetings.
The mid-year
meeting is important to the House in preparing for the annual meeting.
Any amendments proposed by the Constitution and Bylaws Committee
must be confirmed legal and prepared for publication 3 months before
the House annual meeting (March 5). This commences a series of deadlines
for preparing delegates for the business to be conducted at the
annual meeting. The mid-year House meeting allows the House leadership
to discuss all critical information and take any necessary actions
before these deadlines.
Minutes
from this meeting will be in the next The Delegatesâ Voice,
due to be mailed at the end of March and posted on the website.
