Akintunde Okuboyejo is a geologist at Shell, Nigeria and the new AAPG YP lead for the sub-Sahara Africa region. He received his Msc (Petroleum Geosciences) from the Imperial College, London in 2006 and joined Shell immediately afterwards. He worked for several years as part of a field development team in Port-Harcourt, Nigeria, providing geology support for various hydrocarbon maturation projects. He recently joined a subsurface resource management team where he is now diversifying roles and along with his primary geology tasks, is also getting involved with the economics & commercial side of the oil & gas business. In addition to life as a geologist, Akintunde plays football (soccer) regularly and is an enthusiastic Manchester United FC fan. He currently resides in Port-Harcourt Nigeria
